This year’s protest comes after a woman in Malta was prosecuted for abortion. Nobody should face prison for seeking healthcare. Abortion is healthcare. Abortion is bodily autonomy. Criminalisation only fuels stigma, fear, and unsafe conditions. The current situation is a profound disservice to women and gender diverse people in Malta.
