"Due to the success of our initial ""No ICE in Our Hotels"" Rally last week, we are making this event a weekly event. Join us to say, “No ICE in Our Hotels,"" in front of a local hotel where ICE agents have been reportedly staying. We’ll rally to say we oppose masked ICE agents grabbing our neighbors off our streets and deporting them, often without due process. We’ll show we stand strong against ICE agents sending our neighbors to overcrowded detention centers, often far from their families, and from their lawyers. Bring signs calling out TownePlace for taking part in these injustices and proclaiming “No ICE in Our Hotels"" or other slogans denouncing ICE disappearing our neighbors. Bring noisemakers to show we stand with our vulnerable neighbors. On-street parking is available in the neighborhood behind Columbia Tech Center, which is directly behind TownPlace. We at Indivisible GV strongly believe that peaceful, non-violent activism offers social movements the most power to effect change. Through peaceful protests, we set an example of making our voices heard with dignity, empowered by truth. We do not condone intimidation, threats, vandalism, interference with access to a business, or any other lawless actions. If instigators attempt to violate our commitment to non-violence, we will try to de-escalate them and will end the event if needed to maintain a safe environment.
