Good Trouble Saturday - Fight the Trump Takeover

Join Indivisible Greater Vancouver (IGV) and MoveOn-Clark County for Good Trouble! ✊ GOOD TROUBLE SATURDAYS ✊ We’re turning up the volume on justice every Saturday! ℹ️ Note: Good Trouble rallies are now moving to 121st AVE & Fourth Plain and shifting to 12–1 PM starting Saturday August 16, 2025. Starting this month, “Fight the Trump Takeover” of our election system will be the focus of our weekly “Good Trouble” rallies. Trump has taken many steps to try to subvert/take over the 2026 midterm elections. He announced he plans to sign an executive order to ban all mail-in voting. He urged Texas Republicans to draw a new congressional map to try to steal five congressional seats from Democrats. The Trump administration has asked state election officials to provide the feds sensitive information about their state voters. Federal officials are trying to inspect state voting machines. They have threatened state election officials with lawsuits, claiming they didn’t properly verify voters’ identities. Trump has taken all these actions, even though, according to the Constitution, states set their own election rules. He also has asked for a new US Census to be done that would exclude noncitizens, even though the Constitution says the Census should include everyone. The Census is used to allot congressional representatives to states. All these actions are an effort to subvert our system of free and fair elections and to skew the results toward Republicans. These actions also undermine the Voting Rights Act -- weakening the votes, and the voice, of minority voters. Join us at our weekly “Good Trouble” Rally, now focused on “Fight the Trump Takeover” of our election system. Bring signs saying, “Fight the Trump Takeover,” “Stop the Trump Election Scam,” and other slogans showing we won’t let Trump steal our free and fair elections. Bring noisemakers to show we won’t be silent as Trump tries to illegally rig elections in favor of him and other Republicans. Inspired by civil rights icon John Lewis, our weekly rallies are now “Good Trouble” Rallies—peaceful, non-violent actions to challenge injustice and create meaningful change. We demand a government that works for the people, not one that caters billionaires! 📍 121st AVE & Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver 🕓 Saturdays, 12–1 PM 🪧 Bring your signs, your noisemakers, and your courage to stand up and speak out! 🗣️ Let’s make some #GoodTrouble together—because democracy depends on it. We'll meet at the intersection of 121st Ave & Fourth Plain Blvd in Vancouver, staying on public property. Park on the street or in the surrounding neighborhood. Bring a sign, noisemakers, and your voice to let everyone know we stand united against authoritarians! We at IGV strongly believe that peaceful, non-violent activism offers social movements the most power to effect change. Through peaceful protests, we set an example of making our voices heard with dignity, empowered by truth. IGV does not condone intimidation, threats, vandalism, interference with access to a business, or any other lawless actions. If instigators or our opponents attempt to violate our commitment to non-violence, we will try to de-escalate them and will end the event if needed to maintain a safe environment. Safety tips for attending rallies in hot weather: wear a wide brimmed hat and light colored, breathable clothing drink plenty of water at the first sign of heat illness (dizziness, muscle cramps, headache, nausea) move to a cooler location and slowly drink a cool beverage. Seek medical attention if you do not feel better. (WA State Dept of Health) Your safety is our top concern. If you need assistance, please reach out to the organizers. If you are concerned about your ability to stand or walk outside during hot temperatures, please stay home!
