IFTAR

No Pride in Genocide

Calling all DMV-based Queer and Trans Palestinians, SWANA, and Muslim folks! Join us for a free in-person iftar and community gathering on Tuesday, March 17th from 5pm–9 pm in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. Location details will be shared after registration for privacy and security. Join us for an evening of discussion and community building as we share the challenges we face as Queer and Trans Palestinians/SWANA/Muslim organizers. Together we can candidly discuss the impact of homonationalism and pinkwashing on our communities while breaking bread with one another. ✨ This iftar is open to Queer and Trans Palestinians and SWANA folks of all faiths and levels of practice, as well as Queer and Trans Muslims of all backgrounds interested in or organizing against zionism. ✨ No Pride in Genocide welcomes people of all backgrounds to organize with us. However, we ask allies to respect that this event is specifically crafted to create space for those with shared experiences of this intersectionality to connect. If you would like to help support this iftar and our future events, please consider donating to our venmo @noprideingenocide Register via the link in our bio. Location details will be shared after registration. For the safety of those not “out,” your information will only be shared with organizers and no photos will be taken during the event. The venue is wheelchair accessible. This event is free to attend with a suggested sliding scale donation. We hope you’re able to join us as we gather in community to support and uplift each other during this time of immense grief and escalated destruction in our region. If you’re not able to attend but would like to help support this iftar and future events, donations are appreciated. Thank you for supporting our community.
