NO KINGS Wauseon

No Kings

We the People have something the mad king doesn't: a conscience. We cannot be bullied. We cannot be bribed. Dr. Justin Wolfers said, "Presidents aren't kings; they need legal authority and political support." Let's show up at No Kings and show we don't give him any support. Journalist Tom Nichols: "Trump himself is unworthy of America and its people." Former DHS appointee Miles Taylor: "Trump was never prepared to fight people of conscience... And now he's learning just how hard it is to make all of us go away... Collective moral refusal is both our superpower and his vulnerability... Keep defying." Fascism scholar Ruth Ben-Ghiat: "Nothing threatens authoritarian regimes more than acts of nonviolent protest - people standing together, choosing empathy and courage, and refusing to be afraid." Judge Michael Luttig: "The law is king... We must summon our courage, our fearlessness, our hope... We have been given the high charge of our forebears to 'keep' the republic they founded a quarter of a millennium ago." Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner: "WE are the ones who will save us." NO KINGS! Let's get out there together again for our democracy. This is a peaceful protest. So, bring your signs and flags, and show your support for our freedoms. A core principle behind our protests is a commitment to lawful, nonviolent, constitutionally protected action. PLEASE NOTE: The owner of the Rite-Aid building has requested no cars be parked in his parking lot. A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. Police permit has been obtained.
