PALESTINIAN PRISONERS DAY RALLY FOR FREEDOM

Justice for Palestine

SAVE THE DATE 📅 Join Justice for Palestine on Saturday, April 18 in Pōneke/Wellington to mark Palestinian Prisoners Day and recognise the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in their fight for justice and liberation from Israeli oppression. 📅 April 18 ⏰ 11 AM 📍 Te Ngākau, Civic Square On March 30, 2026 Israel passed a barbaric law approving the use of a default death penalty against Palestinians in a clear violation of human rights and international law. It was celebrated in the Knesset with champagne, cheers and noose pendants. The law marks a new chapter in Israeli terror, and is worded specifically to target Palestinians living under occupied military law in the West Bank. This ruling intends to normalise the death of Palestinians, and there is no legal recourse for detainees once they have been sentenced. Each year, April 17 is dedicated to Palestinian detainees and political prisoners, their families, and to their freedom. In light of the barbarous death penalty law passed by Israel, it is more important than ever to show support for those Palestinians illegally imprisoned and their families. ⛓️‍💥 Join the rally on April 18 to stand together against the occupation’s violent apartheid regime, the United States and Israeli aggression across the SWANA region, and the unjust rates of imprisonment of Māori on their own land in Aotearoa ⛓️‍💥
