Defend Democracy ICT, along with our friends from Sedgwick County Young Democrats, Leading Kansas, and other individual community organizers, are coming together to host No Kings Day 3.0 in Wichita, Kansas. Details are still being finalized, but plans include opportunities to march from the North End and from the Federal Courthouse, with groups joining together downtown at Kennedy Plaza. Information about routes, speakers, and special guests will be announced as plans are confirmed. A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. In 2025, millions of Americans rose up in nonviolent protest to oppose growing authoritarianism and to affirm that this nation belongs to its people — not to kings. Since then, communities across the country have continued to organize peacefully in response to ongoing abuses of power and escalating federal actions.
