Join us every Friday 3:30 to 5 at the Intersection of Raleigh Road Parkway W and Airport Boulevard in Wilson, NC. Our events are peaceful, positive, and nonviolent, and open to Democrats, Independents, Republicans and anyone else. We are standing up for human rights and to protect our democracy. And since we are here to promote unity in our community, diversity, equality, inclusion, and social justice, please bring positive signs! Some examples of positive signs are: Instead of "Stop defunding science,” say “Protect research funding.” Instead of "Stop fascism,” say "Save our democracy.” Other ideas are: “Protect Medicaid,” “SNAP feeds kids,” “Justice for All,” “No ICE,” etc. Make signs about what you're standing up for -- whether that is SNAP, Due Process, VA Rights, Medicaid, DEI, healthcare, women’s rights, LGBTQIA+, etc. Please no mocking signs and no swastikas as we aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. Bring a chair, bring a flag, or bring a sign! Simply show up when you can if only for a few minutes! I love that when it happens! Signing up helps me to connect with you if a change occurs such as last minute change of plans due to weather. We are standing up for human rights because no one deserves to live in fear and no one deserves to be denied rights. Individually, we can’t campaign on everything we wish were different, but together we are strong! Keep doing what you are doing because it matters and stand with us because it’s fun! You will meet people like yourself who care, are concerned and are making a BIG difference in Wilson! We are a nonpartisan grassroots group of individuals most of whom live in Wilson, NC who love going to peaceful demonstrations and standing up for human rights.
