Power of Resistance
Freedom Fridays
Join us every Friday 4-6pm at the Intersection of Raleigh Road Parkway W and Airport Boulevard in Wilson, NC.
We are now meeting up on weekly Zoom meetings, so ask us how you can join our local group.
Our events are peaceful, positive, and nonviolent, and open to Democrats, Independents, Republicans and anyone else. We are standing up for human rights and to protect our democracy. And since we are here to promote unity in our community, diversity, equality, inclusion, and social justice, please bring positive signs!
Some examples of positive signs are: Instead of "Stop defunding science,” say “Protect research funding.” Instead of "Stop fascism,” say "Save our democracy.” Other ideas are: “Protect Medicaid,” “SNAP feeds kids,” “Justice for All,” “No ICE,” etc. Make signs about what you're standing up for -- whether that is SNAP, Due Process, VA Rights, Medicaid, DEI, healthcare, women’s rights, LGBTQIA+, etc. Please no mocking signs and no swastikas as we aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
We started these demonstrations July 18 and our last 3 demonstrations had 14 to 17 people and I expect a few more friends will be showing up this Friday. 😁 Join us! It’s fun!
We will be very excited to see you there standing with us for our community and our country!
We are standing up for human rights because no one deserves to live in fear and no one deserves to be denied rights. Individually, we can’t campaign on everything alone, but together we can stand for all and we are all in this together.
We are a nonpartisan grassroots group of individuals most of whom live in Wilson, NC who love going to peaceful demonstrations and standing up for human rights. We hope to empower more folks in our hometown to stand up and speak up. Check us out. Meet us at the corner on Friday or join in on a weekly Zoom. We are a growing community looking to connect with others and finding ways we can make a difference.
Let your voices be heard!
Thank you.
