Hayward MayDay Strong

WisDems

Stand up for workers at a MayDay Strong rally from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, May 1, on Democracy Corner in Hayward. That's the intersection of U.S. 63 and Wisconsin 27. Many are refusing to conduct business as usual, supporting the theme: No School. No Work. No Shopping. Of course, we understand in these times you may have to work, go to school and shop, but if you can join us here’s what you can do! · Bring signs expressing your beliefs and concerns. · Stay peaceful. · Dress for the weather, bring water, sunscreen or mittens as needed. If you cannot join us, remember to: · Shop local only; support the businesses that support our communities. · Show your support by honking as you go by!!! A food shelf collection station will be on site. Please bring non-perishable food or a cash donation. This event is hosted by Up North Engaged and the Democratic Party of Sawyer County and Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation. Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
