Mariannette Miller-Meeks voted to cut Medicaid for thousands of Iowans, endangering our rural hospitals. Now, Iowa river-town healthcare facilities are closing and sending patients to hospitals hours away, with MercyOne Clinton Medical Center ending its labor and delivery services at the end of May. The labor and delivery unit at the Clinton Medical Center is closing due to a loss of $1.5 billion in funding that Miller-Meeks voted for. These closures are coming as Iowans deal with an unprecedented cancer crisis, fueled by industrial agriculture pollution running into our waterways.
